Committee Description

The Martin Administration will work with a multitude of other service organizations to provide service to the Chapel Hill community. The Community Service committee will organize the Public Service Fair and CarolinaServes along with other smaller projects throughout the year. We build policy to improve the student body’s access to service opportunity and undergo monthly service projects ourselves.

Committee Goals for the 2019-2020 Academic Year

  • Help start-up service organizations with 501c3 forms
  • Organize two large-scale service exposure events, one in the fall and one in the spring
  • Create a common service organization coalition with a website
  • Partner with other committees and organizations to accomplish a local service project each month
  • Initiate faculty recommendations for “subject-related service opportunities”
