Meet Kartik

Kartik Tyagi (he/him/his),

Kartik Tyagi serves as the Undergraduate Secretary on the Executive Board of the Richards Administration.

Kartik is a junior from Cary, NC pursuing a BSPH in Health Policy and Management and minoring in Neuroscience and Chemistry.

Kartik’s passion for service – service through leadership, through uplifting and empowering the voices of others – is what has propelled both his work and his drive, be it through engagements that have enabled him to build his professional passions, or embody his leadership journey.

In building his passions for global health and health policy, Kartik currently serves as part of Harvard Medical School’s Global COVID-19 Response Technical Support Group. He additionally serves as a health informatics research assistant at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Kartik has had the unique honor and opportunity to develop his passion for leadership through serving as an Advising Peer for UNC Academic Advising, as Executive Director of the Association of Residence Halls for the Carolinas, as an Alumni Policy Ambassador for the National Academy Foundation, and as an involved stakeholder within International HOSA-Future Health Professionals.

He looks forward to, in his third year serving as part of the Executive Branch, promoting and facilitating long-term growth and branding development, communications, messaging, visibility, and transparency. Kartik believes that the ability to empower student voices through this very network is unparalleled.


Meet Erin

Erin Schlachter (she/her/hers),

Erin Schlachter serves as the Chief Publicity Specialist as part of the Richards Administration’s Office of the Secretary and Department of Communications.

Erin is a sophomore from Cary, NC double majoring in Public Policy and Pre-Advertising and Public Relations. On campus, she is involved with the Residence Hall Association’s Social Justice and Advocacy Board and is the Vice President-elect of Carolina Jump Rope Club. This is her first year involved with the Executive Branch, and she is so excited about it!
Erin‘s goals for the upcoming year are to effectively communicate the goals and successes of the Richards Administration while involving student input. She believes that Student Government should echo the voices of all who walk Carolina’s campus, and can’t wait to amplify them.

Meet Ryan

Ryan Crowell (he/him/his),
Ryan Crowell serves as a Messaging and Communications Specialist as part of the Richards Administration’s Office of the Secretary and Department of Communications.
Ryan is a sophomore from Charlotte, NC double majoring in Business Administration and Human Organizational Leadership and Development. On campus, he is involved with The Black Student Movement, Allison Mentorship Program, and the Student Academic Advisory Board (SAAB). He has been involved in the Executive Branch for the past year and has served as the First-Year Focus Council Marketing Chair.
Ryan‘s goals for the upcoming year are to improve branch branding, implement efficient methods of communication for the administration, and support initiatives of Executive Board Officers.

Meet Jessica

Jessica Walker (she/her/hers),

Jessica Walker serves as a Content Creation Specialist as part of the Richards Administration’s Office of the Secretary and Department of Communications.

Jessica is a sophomore from Raleigh, NC, interested in majoring in Biostatistics with the Gillings School of Public Health. On campus, she is involved with the student-run non-profit Carolina For The Kids (CFTK), and has worked within the Executive Branch through the Academics Affairs committee. She also works as an Engagement Ambassador with the Carolina Engagement Center to facilitate alumni outreach.
