Presidential Task Forces
Focused initiatives addressing critical student needs through targeted action and advocacy
Leading Change Across Campus
Student Body President Adolfo Alvarez established four Presidential Task Forces to advance key priorities facing undergraduate students. Each task force brings together student leaders, campus partners, and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive solutions and drive meaningful progress on issues ranging from housing affordability to reproductive health access.
Housing Task Force
Advancing housing affordability and accessibility for all students through research, advocacy, and partnership with campus administration. The task force addresses rising costs, limited availability, and equity concerns in on-campus and off-campus housing options.
STEM Task Force
Amplifying STEM student voices and addressing academic challenges across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. The task force tackles issues including course accessibility, mental health support, research opportunities, and academic resources for STEM majors.
Reproductive Health Task Force
Ensuring comprehensive access to reproductive health resources, education, and care for all students. The task force works to expand services, increase awareness, and advocate for policies that protect student health rights and well-being.
Special Projects
Developing innovative solutions to emerging student needs and campus challenges that require flexible, adaptive approaches. This initiative tackles time-sensitive issues and explores new opportunities for student support and engagement beyond traditional departmental structures.
