SERENA SINGH KELLEY TRAYHNHAM

Meet Serena.

Serena Singh, serenase@live.unc.edu

Serena serves as a Senior Advisor on the Executive Board of the Martin Administration.

She is a senior studying Political Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship, where she works to intersect social innovation and governance. Prior to serving as a Senior Advisor, she first served as an Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff, then went on to be the Co-Chair of the Multicultural Affairs & Diversity Outreach Committee. As Co-Chair, she worked intensively on implicit bias, minority retention, and gender-based violence as it pertains to people of color. Outside of Student Government, Serena is a Content Creator for The Bridge, an Advocacy fellow with the Community Empowerment Fund, and is completing her Capstone for the Entrepreneurship Minor.

Her hobbies include long-distance running, researching power & privilege, and intensively curating her Spotify playlists.

Meet Kelley.

Kelley Traynham, kelleyel@live.unc.edu

Kelley Traynham serves as a Senior Advisor on the Executive Board of the Martin Administration.

She is a senior from Durham, North Carolina pursuing a major in Communications with a focus on interpersonal and organizational communication with a minor in Health and Society. Prior to being Senior Advisor, she served as Director of Town and Community Outreach for State and External Affairs in the Undergraduate Executive Branch. Outside of Student Government, Kelley has served as Co-Outreach Chair for the Black Student Movement for the last two years, staff writer for Black Ink magazine, P.E.A.C.E member and HYPE volunteer along with many others roles. Kelley is excited for her new position and will work to better ensure this campus serves all students.

Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, traveling, and cooking.

EMMA CAPONIGRO JACOB YOUNG

Meet Emma.

Emma Caponigro, emmacap@live.unc.edu  

Emma Caponigro serves as a Senior Advisor on the Executive Board of the Martin Administration.

She is a senior pursuing a major in Health Policy and Management and minors in Chemistry and Spanish for the Health Professions. Prior to being a Senior Advisor, she served as an inaugural Co-Director for the Mental Health Task Force of UNC Student Government. Before that she spent two years on the Student Safety and Wellness Committee and one year on the Community Service Committee. Emma enjoys her external appointments to the Campus Health Advisory Board and the Disability Advisory Committee. Outside of Student Government, she does public health research and is a member of the pre-health society Alpha Epsilon Delta.

Her hobbies include beginner yoga, trying new restaurants on Franklin Street, and listening to Ted Talks.

Meet Jacob.

Jacob Young, jacoby@live.unc.edu

Jacob Young serves as a Senior Advisor on the Executive Board of the Martin Administration.

He is a senior pursuing a major in Political Science with minors in Philosophy, Politics and Economics as well as History. Prior to serving as a Senior Advisor, Jacob served as the Chair for the Student Safety and Wellness Committee within Undergraduate Executive Student Government. As Chair, Jacob actively worked to increase public safety on campus, improve every student’s well-being, and fought to bring sexual violence prevention and awareness to a campus-wide conversation. From the onset of his time in Student Government, he as been an ally to survivors of sexual violence and plans to continue his role in actively mitigating sexual assault on campus through personal derivatives.

Outside of campus, Jacob loves the camaraderie of friends, debating amongst peers, experiencing new things, and staying up-to-date on podcasts.
