Director of Environmental Affairs

Ellie Prosser is a junior majoring in Environmental Studies with minors in Public Policy and Geographic Information Sciences. She enjoys her role because she is passionate about raising awareness and addressing environmental challenges affecting the school and community. She is excited to connect and collaborate with environmental organizations on campus and uplift voices in the environmental community. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, listening to music, thrifting, and traveling.

Our Purpose

Our Mission

The Environmental Affairs Department is dedicated to advancing sustainability, environmental justice, and student-led climate action at UNC. We aim to amplify student voices on environmental challenges we face on campus, while teaching students about topics like public health, clean energy, and environmental justice issues.

Our efforts will promote sustainable infrastructure and conservation by fostering collaboration and addressing key campus policies. Through proactive planning, policy advocacy, and inclusive engagement, we seek to build a more equitable, resilient, and sustainable UNC.

Energy Transition Town Hall

A meeting facilitating conversation between students and faculty about district energy at UNC and the university's clean energy goals.

Environmental Networking Event

An environmental career fair for students interested in pursuing careers in sustainability fields.

ESON Network

Environmental Student Organization Network connecting diverse environmental organizations across campus to foster streamlined communication and collaboration.
